DEFENDANT DENIES STEALING ITEMS A 57-YEAR OLD man


entered not guilty pleas to two offences, which are alleged to have occurred days after Christmas, at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (Feb 1). Kevin Wassall, of Anchor


Drive in Sandwell, denied an offence of criminal damage. The defendant is said to have destroyed a bed, a mattress, bed linen, saucepans, a toaster, a kettle, a tumble dryer door and hair products valued at just under £1,500 with no lawful excuse. Wassall also pleaded not


guilty an offence of theft in a dwelling. He allegedly stole various Christmas presents including food and gift sets and footwear of unknown value. The offences are alleged


to have occurred on December 28, 2016 at Newcastle Emlyn. Wassall will reappear before Aberystwyth Court on March 13 for his trial and was released on conditional bail until then.
