GIVING SPRINGS OF WATER TO THIRSTY LANDS “Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped… for in the
wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water… And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”
– Isaiah 35:5-7 & 10 WME Partners & Supporters,
THE BLESSING OF CLEANWATER… It’s something we don’t often think about. We just expect safe water to be available when we need it. But there are many countries where drinkable water is a treasured commodity because it is so very hard to come by.
Until I went on mission trips to developing countries, I never appreciated the wonder of filling up a glass at a water tap. I never thought to worry whether my water was sanitary or if I was protected from dangerous waterborne bacteria or chemicals. Truthfully, I never realized how much I had taken the availability of clean water for granted.
In some countries, people without ready access to water pray for rain so they can catch the falling liquid in old, deteriorating containers. And the rain storms they depend on are often few and far between. In other areas, women and children walk carrying heavy containers along dusty roads for miles to fill them with water needed to drink, cook and clean. Other people have water all around them, but it is so diseased and polluted that it is too dangerous to drink or use.

YOU CAN STOP HUNGER, HEAL DISEASE AND SAVE HUNDREDS OF LIVES WITH THE GIFT OF CLEAN WATER. Clean water is critical to life and survival. When water is unsafe, an entire community suffers. Without water it is almost impossible to grow food, raise livestock or prevent disease and malnutrition. Without clean water, merely finding a way to survive becomes a community’s sole focus.

PROVIDING A COMMUNITY WITH SAFE WATER CAN HELPWME MEET PHYSICAL NEEDS AS IT OPENS SPIRITUAL DOORS. People are grateful, excited and curious when they see Christian compassion and faith extended to them through the gift of safe water. Thus, water projects open wide the door for Native Missionaries to share with villagers Gospel lessons of quenching spiritual thirst through Jesus Christ.
