YOU COULDN’T LOST AND FOUND
MAKE IT UP Dubai Media City. November 26, 2008
Just weeks after we reported that
Dubai journalist Richard Dean has a
penchant for wearing Mac foundation,
he’s at it again. “Here’s a nice picture
of me with my Mac mascara and Toni
& Guy bouffant. Enjoy,” he writes in a
missive to Media Week. The picture is for
Dean’s new “weekly satirical column on
business life in Dubai” for the London
Evening Standard, the first of which is
set to appear on December 3rd. “I think
the column is sponsored by L’Oreal,” he
jokes. We think.
SUN SUBS’ SLICK SKILLS
S-ELEBRATED
Admittedly, alliteration is always agreeable. But beware
becoming boring, is our advice to the subeditors at The Sun.
“Boozed-up brunette banged up for bunk-up on beach in
Dubai” screamed the British tabloid’s front-page exclusive
in July. It followed this with “Boozed-up brunette banged up
for Dubai beach bunk-up bailed” and “Boozed-up brunette in
Dubai bunk-up booted back to Britain” as the story unfolded.
The subs’ desk mantra is clearly: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

from in his first press conference, so
much so that a video of his astonishing
