Alex McNabb, group account director at Spot On PR, has more
important things on his mind. “If there’s something that caused
me pain this year, it’s the continued woeful state of radio ad-
vertising,” he tells Media Week. “I’m seriously thinking about
waiting outside and throwing a bucket of blood over them.”
NICE, REEL NICE
The Qatar Museums Authority has announced a tie-in with
New York’s trendy Tribeca Film Festival. The first Tribeca Film
Festival Doha, we are told, will kick off at Doha’s Museum of
Islamic Art next year. No mention of whether the roster will in-
clude previous Tribeca offerings Cocaine Cowboys and Another
Gay Movie.

Of all the fancy-schmancy industry holiday cards we received

ad. But then it hit us: this is a remark from the client, carelessly left on
out glitter—by far the most inspired was the one we got from
the final product, dripping with sarcasm.
TBWA/RAAD. A crappy congratulations-on-your-new-baby
card with words crossed out and others added in, it was signed
“Here’s to better economic times in 2009.” Inexpensive and
funny. Genius.
TEMPTING FATE
Interestingly, ITP held its annual holiday party at Le Meridien Hotel
this year—a bunch of ITP staffers, unlimited beverages, plenty of
beaches within cabbing distance … what could possibly go wrong?
