Targeting The Best Fit - No Matter Your Gender
At Artisan Golf you won’t be greeted with the words “our women’s clubs
are over here”. There are many types of golfers and many types of
clubs but there are no gender specific clubs. Women are often
pigeonholed to a particular shaft flex and length. It is assumed that by
definition they need a softer flex and shorter clubs.
Artisan Golf Co. is a custom clubfitting shop owned and operated by
Don and Pauline Irving. It is a full service business located in Kanata,
which is in its tenth year of operation. Their philosophy is that clubfitting
is a gender-neutral process. Don does not believe there are specific
clubs for men and women. There are, however, specific clubs for each
and every golfer, based on their golf swing and style of play. The only
way to determine the right head style, shaft type, grip size, etc., is
through a professional club fitting. When customers come in for a fitting,
whether male, female, junior, senior, new golfer or seasoned amateur,
they are put through a detailed fitting process to determine the optimum
clubs for their game. Club fitting can benefit everyone, from the low
handicapper to the beginning golfer. Don Irving and his personal touch
can provide you with a properly fitted, custom-made set of very high
quality golf clubs at a reasonable cost. Your current clubs can also be

For golfers, having the right equipment is essential at all levels. To this
