At 7445 yards the course is brutish but the thin air of high elevation,

207 yard 17th hole is the highlight here. It is hard to keep your focus as

the lake plays all down the right side and swallows up any sliced shots.

There are plenty of other scintillating golf courses in Tahoe but unfortu-
nately many are private. One course that every golfer should test out IS
public however, and owns the claim as the golf course at the highest Lincoln Park Golf Course
elevation in California.

Something Different

Often lost in the California we see portrayed on television and in movies,
Northern California provides a window into what attracted people to the
region in the first place. Fortunately the upper end of the state has not
suffered completely from a loss of appreciation for natural wonders.
Whether you stay on the rugged coast or head inland to the oasis of the
mountains, golfing or not, it is hard not to feel some attraction.
Such diversity in a narrow geographic span is somewhat incomprehen-
sible but being in wonder in Northern California is pretty much par for the
course. Hollywood and southern California may offer its own manufac-
tured sense of beauty, but for me the true exquisiteness of California will
always be found in “NoCal”.
