POSITION YOUR WEIGHT
LEFT WHEN YOU CHIP
In order to chip the ball better and more consistent you need to make sure
that you distribute more weight to your left side (opposite for left handed
golfers) in the address position. More weight on your left side will promote
a steeper swing plane, making it easier to contact the golf ball first.
Be careful when setting up that you do not lean too far left. This is a
common mistake and will cause your swing plane to get too steep
and the golf club will likely dig into the ground. If your weight is just
slightly forward the club will swing and bounce through the hitting
area, which will improve your chances of solid contact.
Once you have the proper setup with your weight slightly forward all
you need to do is keep your body still as you swing the club. You will
start hitting your chip shots closer to the hole so you had better
practice up on your short putting.
Good golfing and see you on the course.

A proper set-up with a slight weight distribution on the lead foot. This
promotes a “slightly” downward blow.
Left Photo:
Leaning too much on to your forward side can lead to a steep and quick
takeway on your chip shots leading to poor contact.
