yacht racing Caribbean style!
St Maarten Heineken Cup (5th-8th March 2009)
The ethos of the St Maarten Heineken Cup regatta is 'serious fun'
which is probably why it has been at the forefront of Caribbean
sailing events since it began. The scale of the regatta (a record 284
entries in 2008) makes for an exhilerating event with strong and
competitive racing classes. The 29th Heineken Cup regatta from
5th-8th March 2009 will be no exception.
BVI Spring Regatta (28th March-5th April 2009)
The British Virgin Islands Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival has a
reputation for serious yacht racing and serious partying.
The week long event takes in everything the British Virgin Islands
have to offer starting at Nanny Cay, racing up the Sir Frances Drake
channel to the infamous Bitter End Yacht Club.
The warm and steady trade winds provide fantastic sailing
conditions and the idyllic sandy beaches allow for the perfect way to
unwind after a great day's racing. The regatta village has a carnival
atmosphere throughout the week with entertainment for all.
