The team are currently in the process of obtaining charitable status for the work they do, not only in Stalybridge, but across Tameside in general. The Stalybridge Celtic Foundation will look to build on the last two years of taking the club out of Bower Fold and into the community to deliver activities, projects and initiatives to make a difference to people’s lives and where they live.

They now have a new website for their Community work, so to get a flavour of what they do.

The Stalybridge Celtic Adult PAN-disability team has grown from one team to two teams (Blues & Whites) and play in the Cheshire East Ability Counts monthly league over at Aquinas College in Stockport.

The Walking Football team, Vintage Celtic, are still going strong, playing in the Cheshire FA Walking Football League down at the Cheshire FA HQ in Northwich, along with various Tournament/Festivals across the North West.

Weekly Training sessions are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings for those who would like to play the beautiful game at a much slower pace. For more information have a look at our dedicated Walking Football site www.walkingfootball-tameside- glossop.org

Celtic have also teamed up with Tameside based charity, The Believe and Achieve Trust, for the National League North 2016/17 season, to raise awareness of the symptoms of meningitis.

During the season they will be

holding various fundraising activities to help and support the Trust, such as Match Day Bucket Collections, Bag Pack event at Tesco, Stalybridge, Charity football match at Bower Fold and a Charity 10K walk.

The highlight of 2016 for Vintage Celtic was by far winning the Browns Walking Football European Cup in Portugal in the Summer
