residents to enjoy some of SLV’s most unique natural areas,” said Kirk Smith, Chief Operating Officer of SLV. “We are grateful for all volunteers and team members who helped to make the vision for this project a reality.” Savannah Lakes Village had a ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 8 at Shenandoah Park to mark the dedication of Phase I of the connectivity trails project in the Village. Special trees and plants have been identified by the local garden club, which will be marked with easy to read markings.

The new trail also serves as an example for future phases of a comprehensive connectivity trail system. Next phases include more trail signage and finalizing the layout of future phases that will ultimately connect other neighborhoods to current and future amenities within the community. SLV thanks George Webb, board member and chair of the connectivity trail sub-committee, who spent many months surveying the land with the trails committee to establish the plan for Phase I development, and Phil Gates and his Community Services team for their work in coordinating the clearing, grading and development the trail. The official name for 12-acre natural area that the trail meanders through was unveiled at the dedication. The new park will be named Bold Creek Park. The name selected was submitted by three different SLV members in a community-wide naming contest: Kathy Blevins, John Snow, and Keith Wise.•
