There are a number of new standards and technical specifications encompassed within this issue. Of these, four are detailed below.

BS EN 50604-1 Secondary lithiumbatteries for light EV (electric vehicle) applications. General safety requirements and testmethods.

This standard specifies test procedures and provides acceptable safety requirements for removable lithium-ion battery packs, to be used as traction batteries for electrically propelled road vehicles. It applies to all battery systems intended to be used in conjunction with products or systems described in the IEC/TS 61851-3 series.

This standard describes a testmethod for determining the intrinsic characteristics of sound diffraction of added devices installed on the top of railway noise barriers. The testmethod is intended foruse in a number of applications. The testmethod can be applied both in situ and on samples purposely built to be tested.

This technical specification provides a common basis for exchange of information on performance indicators between stakeholders in thewind power generation business. The technical specification defines generic terms ofwind turbine systems and environmental constraints in describing systemavailability, lifetime expectancy, repairs and criteria for determining overhaul intervals.
