by all who attended the event. Kudos to the team that worked on this project!

The participation of our congregation on the Annual Thanksgiving day was OVERWHELM- ING! True to the Sprit, all came together in one mind to thank the Lord for all His bless- ings throughout the year. Bagavathar Veda- nayagam Sastriar and Clement Sastriar were the special speakers who shared the word of God on that special day.

early Beloved, It gives me great pleasure in greet- ing you all through the Christmas is- sue of “The Oracles”.

During these three months, we saw our Bish- op Duraisingh James retiring after serving our Cathedral since 2001. We thank him for his glorious and illustrious service.

We also welcome Rev. Johnson who has joined our Cathedral as Presbyter. We wish him God’s guidance as he serves the con- gregation together with the other presbyters. Children’s Thanksgiving Festival was cele- brated with great fun and frolic and brought joy and excitement among children. We thank God for the gift of children.

Project Proclaim, a musical drama staged by our church members, deserves praise. It was a depiction of the life of St. Thomas as a disciple of Jesus and his sacrificial life after Jesus’ ascension. It was beautifully enacted by all - from kids to elders, and accompa- nied with melodious music. The entire con- gregation’s participation was much appre- ciated and the musical drama applauded

The Oracles / December 2016 4

The Sastriars conducted a two day ‘Katha Kaletchebam’ (messages with songs) in pure Carnatic music and I am sure that those who attended the two day discourse enjoyed the message and singing brought through this event.

The threat of raising a compound wall in the middle of our ground by the HMRL is looming large over us. But do not dismay, our Lord will successfully save us through the struggle and will thwart the attempts of HMRL. We have a God who fights for us and gives us victory.

As we enter the festive season, let us realise that Jesus did not come to bring us a religion - a system of faith and worship, but to be “The Way, The Truth and The Life”. Let us re- mind ourselves this Christmas time, that ‘Je- sus came out of the everywhere, into here, to lead us from here to the everywhere.’

In Christ there is no east or west, In Him, no south or north, But one great fellowship of love, Throughout the whole wide earth.

In Him shall true hearts everywhere, Their high communion find, His service is a golden chord, Close binding humankind.

Join hands united in the faith, Whatever your race may be, Who serves my Father as a son, Is surely kin to me.
