Angels: Angels brought the good news saying
“For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11.
A great company of angels were praising and singing,
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2:14
Singing is a part of Christmas. In order to instil the true meaning of Christmas at home, start singing Christmas carols during your family prayer. In our family prayer, we start it from the 1st of December.
May be you can set apart a day just to sing and praise God, inviting your neighbours and friends.
Shepherds: “Now when they had seen Him, they made
widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child” Luke 2:17
Is there any better time than Christmas sea- son to spread the word that the Saviour has been born for the whole world? Make every opportunity to tell our neighbours and friends that Christmas means a saviour has been born for them.
When we celebrate Christmas, there is a beautiful pattern given in the Bible of how it was celebrated at the birth of Jesus by dif- ferent people.
henever we celebrate a festival, we always want to see how oth- ers are doing it and want to do it in the same or a better way.
CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION 3
The Wise Men: “And when they had come into the house,
they saw the young Child with Mary His moth- er, and fell down and worshiped Him.” Matthew 2:11
Worship is adoration of God for who He is and praising Him for all His attributes. In our family prayer, we can introduce a time of worship where children also take part and learn to worship. Worshipping the Lord as a family is making a Christ honoured home.
In conclusion, may this Christmas season be, as angels sang
“On earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2:14
May it be a time of reconciliation, singing, sharing the good news of salvation, and wor- shipping God in your family, neighbourhood and in your workplace. May the Lord help us choose a Biblical pattern of celebrating Christmas rather than a worldly pattern.
