A BIBLICAL CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

decorate our homes. They are NOT wrong, but at the same time they are NOT the essence of Christmas.

Romans 14:17 says,

“For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Sprit”. Wouldn't it be great to celebrate this Christmas in a special way, to glorify the birth of Jesus?

Jesus came to this world for our salvation. We are happy because Jesus is with us. Dur- ing this Christmas season, let us spread this happiness in our neighbourhood and work- place. Let us help others understand the love of our Lord Almighty and receive His sal- vation. Just imagine what our status would be without salvation if Jesus was not born.

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift”, 2 Corinthians 9: 15

According to the Christian calendar, we cel- ebrate Christmas on the 25th of December. We do not know if this was the real date of birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Many scholars and leaders are discussing and debating over this. But that is NOT important. It is a known fact that on the First Christmas, God the Son came to earth as a human. Similar- ly, when we read history we see that all the events are archived as Before Christ (B.C.) and Anno Domini (A.D.). Don't you think history of the world itself is based on Jesus’ birth?

As Christians, how are we going to celebrate Christmas this year? We love to wear new clothes, eat delicious food, enjoy cakes and

On the first Christmas, the shepherds spread the word concerning the child (Luke 2:17). In Luke 2:20, we read that the shepherds re- turned praising and glorifying God. We al- ways celebrate that first Christmas in a very grand manner. Are we ready to celebrate the second Christmas in the grandest way, when our Lord will come as King of Kings?

Christmas is special for us! We can make it special for others too! Let us meet people who do not even know about the first Christ- mas and spread God’s kingdom. Let every nation, tribe, people and language stand- ing before the throne glorify God in the high- est (Revelations 7:9, Luke 2:14).

O come all ye faithfull, Joyful and triumphant O come ye, o come ye to Bethlehem

Come and behold Him,born the king of angels O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord
