EDITOR’S NOTE

The birth of a child is a glorious celebration everywhere in the world. New-born chil- dren bring joy and hope to parents, families and everybody involved. And the festivity doesn’t end there! Birthdays are celebrated year after year, to take time to be glad and grateful for our lives. So when the birthday baby in question is the Child who saved our lives, how much greater must the celebra- tion be!

We celebrate the Christmas season in so many ways. Gifts, cakes, carols, sweets, decorations and getting together with fam- ily – we leave no stone unturned in making a festivity of the whole month of December. With the same spirit and fervour, let us also take time to celebrate Jesus – the reason why Christmas brings joy to all mankind. Jesus was born on this earth to save us from the shackles of sin, to reveal the Father’s character, to become the unblemished

sacrifice, to mediate between mankind and the Father, to give us the gift of the Holy Spirit, to fulfil the prophecy of the Old Testa- ment, and to ultimately redeem and recon- cile mankind with God. And this great plan was set into motion when Jesus was born, in that lowly manger. It truly is the single most important birth in history!

Let us remember and meditate with our friends, family and in our personal lives that Jesus came into this world for you and me. And let this great truth bring new joyfulness in our lives! This Christmas season, may our hearts be filled with love and elation, and may we spread the joy of Christmas to eve- ryone around!

Many Blessings,
