DAY 1: Rome. Arrival at Rome airport and transfer to your hotel in Rome on your own. Welcome dinner in a typical “Osteria d’Italia”. Introduction to the tour and to the Slow Food philosophy. Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay. (D) DAY 2:Rome, Pompeii, Sorrento coast. In the morning departure to Sorrento coast. On the way stop in Pompeii, to visit the opulent Roman city which was buried beneath the rubble from the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. Visit of vineyard of local farmhouse with testing of local wines. Proceed on your hotel. Accommodation. Evening on your own (BB, WT) DAY 3: Capri. Full day join in tour dedicated to explore the beautiful and romantic island of Capri. Meet your guide at the port of Sorrento and board the boat to the island. Once in Capri, travel by mini coach to Anacapri. Take a guided tour through its charming streets and enjoy some free time to explore the famous Villa San Michele. Next up, you will head to Capri town to discover it on foot. Arrive at Augustus Gardens and enjoy a spectacular view of Gracie Fields' former home. Lunch included in local restaurant. After the tour, enjoy two hours at your own leisure. Meeting point at the port and back to Sorrento. Overnight (BB, L) DAY 4: Pizza Cooking lesson - Naples. In the morning experience a real pizza lesson. In the afternoon Guided tour of Naples to discover the main attractions as Dell’Ovo Castle, the Royal Palace, the Maschio Angioino and the Galleria Umberto I. Pop into the Scaturchio patisserie to sample some traditional Neapolitan desserts such as the Ministeriale cake . Back to your hotel. Evening on your own and overnight stay. (BB, C, L) DAY 5: Gragnano. Visit a local pasta factory in Gragnano. Making pasta in Gragnano is an ancient form of art, that involves history, culture, patience, secrets and traditions. Visit of local Slow Food Presidio of Pomodoro followed by lunch. Rest of the day on your own. (BB, L) DAY 6: The Amalfi Coast: Amalfi & Ravello. Morning departure. Stop in Amalfi and visit the famous Cathedral and the Valle dei Mulini, to taste some Limoncello and discover the secrets involved in its preparation. Visit the Antica Pasticceria Andrea Pansa pastry shop for a tasting of the local specialties. Proceed on to Ravello then return to the hotel. in the evening Trantella show in local theatre in Sorrento (BB, T, T) DAY 7: Caserta, Rome. Morning departure for Rome. Stop on the route in Caserta for guided visit of Royal palace and his gardens. Visit of a Mozza- rella cheese producer and learn something about the cheese-making process and sample the fare. Proceed to Rome. Check in at your hotel. Farwell dinner in a typical local restaurant. Overnight. (BB, T, D) DAY 8: Departure After breakfast, free time. End of tour. (BB)
