What is the programme about?


This is a Level 8 add-on programme for the Music Technology and Production programme.


The production of broadcast quality music content forms the core of this programme. Technical


competence is a pre-requisite, as emphasis is placed on higher level production values, as well as the technical and legal frameworks of the broadcast industry.


Emphasis is also placed on advanced technical and production skills within the music production environment. Students will make extensive use of our new state-of-the-art recording studios complex, comprising of 4 full featured recording studios, many editing suites, broadcast studio and audio/video editing laboratories.


Who is the programme suited to?


This one year add-on honours degree programme is ideal for graduates of the Level 7 programme who want to build on their studies in order to pursue a career in the music and audio production industry.


Modules


Music Production, Advanced Mixing, Audio & Video Signal Processing, Introduction to Broadcast & Copyright Law, Video Post-Production, Project.


What can I do after the programme?


Graduates will have the knowledge and skills required to work in a modern technical environment, such as in recording studios, video editing suites and in live theatre.


LIT Music Technology & Production students play an active role in the Limerick Film Festival – an annual event celebrating the best in Irish Short Film & Media

Minimum Entry Requirements: 1. A pass in a relevant Bachelor Degree (Level 7) in a relevant field with an overall average performance of at least 50%


2. An equivalent qualification to a Bachelor Degree (Level 7) with appropriate pre-requisite subjects. 3. A pass in a relevant Bachelor Degree (Level 7) with one year suitable and relevant work experience.
