Tenant competition Green-fingered tenants awarded

The garden competition is always a popular event with our green- fingered tenants and this year was no exception. The competition is open to all Boston Mayflower tenants, so if you missed this year’s edition, we’ll be back next year and look forward to as many entries as possible!

Beautiful gardens are not only nice to look at but they are also an important community feature, often encouraging people to spend quality time outdoors and bringing neighbours together.

We were very impressed with all gardens showcased by our tenants; the hot summer weather has definitely helped! It was wonderful to see the flowers in full bloom and we admired the gardening skills and interesting landscape solutions submitted in photos this year.

With many terrific entries, our judges from the Customer Engagement team had a very difficult task but after a lengthy deliberation they chose the following winning gardens:

Mr Welbourn, Laceys Avenue, Mr and Mrs Loveday, West End, Mr Coupland, Roos Hall,

Mrs Johnson, Low Road, ,

Mr Marriott, Park Avenue,

Miss Warren, Carlton Road,

All winners received a £20 Johnsons voucher.

A very special recognition goes to Mrs Johnson from the Hardwick Estate who looks after the gardens for the block of flats. She makes a real difference to the look of the area for the benefit of the whole neighbourhood. She received a prize for Outstanding Contribution to the Community for all her hard work.
