She knew she eventually needed to go back to school in order to better provide for them but was concerned about the logistics of paying bills, taking care of her children, and passing the math section of Bidwell’s admissions assessment test. together to find solutions that would enable her to attend Bidwell. Her mother, father, and stepfather took care of her living expenses and her children’s father took care of the little ones. She also went to Bidwell’s Academic Support Center

strengthen her math skills and was soon accepted into the eMA: Electronic Record Medical Assistant major. Libran concentrated on school and gave her studies her best effort. “It was really tough and a long,


hard road,” she said. “But, my life right now is 180 degrees different than before I went to school.” Now she can reflect on how Bidwell helped her achieve her goals. “BTC has the best of everything. The instructors, guest

curriculum, and environment of respect and equality,” she said. “It was a really great experience. It was life changing.”
