Vol: 42 Issue No 5 Refitted Wren’s Shop and Post Office

By now you will have had a chance to explore the updated, better lit and refitted community shop with its much wider uncluttered aisles, its new wooden-effect floor, fresh decoration and greatly expanded storage space. It is still very much ‘in development’ as new displays are installed, product lines are arranged (and sometimes re-arranged!) and work on organising the back office and storeroom areas continues.

Everyone has made an extraordinary effort over the summer to make this happen. Did you realise that the shop did not cease service for a single day? We had an amazing ‘pop-up’ shop at the Old Forge and our very grateful thanks go to Ian Hamilton (Valley Forge) who gifted the space to the village to ensure it could carry on - ‘Business as usual’. There’s no doubt the ‘pop-up’ shop was a great success, being very quirky and full of rustic charm . It would be great for this space to be used by someone in the future.

Customers and volunteers continued to support the Shop in its temporary location - for which the Village and the Shop committee offer their thanks.
