What dental services are you entitled to on your medical card?


• One dental health check per year • Two fillings per year • As many extractions as required • Prescriptions


• Approval can be sent for: New dentures every 5 years Root Canal Treatment on a front tooth Note: Plaque Control is a private treatment and is not covered by your medical card.


NON MEDICAL CARD HOLDERS For those who are not holders of medical cards, then they


may be entitled to a free dental examination by virtue of their PRSI contributions. Your dentist can check to see if


you are eligible simply by giving them your PRSI number A number of different types of


treatment are tax allowable and 20% can claimed by using a Med II form for income tax relief . These treatments include


crowns, bridges, veneers, orthodontics, treatment of gum disease & dental implants along with the surgical removal of wisdom teeth.
