In the community Celebrating Silent Community Champions

We want to help celebrate your silent community champions which is why we’re challenging you to nominate your neighbours who go above and beyond to make your community such a great place to live.

We’ve already got a few people on our list but we want to know who your top picks are for silent champions! We’ve included one of our champions to give you a taste of what we’re looking for.

John Fitchett

John Fitchett, who sits on one of our Your Service Voice panels, was one of three people to be given the Boston Borough Council service to the Community Awards in April!

John was put forward by Sutterton Parish Council. Cllr Michael Cooper told how John volunteered his services, and especially his skills as an award-winning gardener, to tend the gardens of those who were not able to do it for themselves. In addition he helped keep the village looking tip-top, setting flowers, cutting grass and mending anything in need of repair and serves on the Mayflower Committee. Last year, when Sutterton won the best small village award, it was John who needed to be thanked for his tireless efforts.

Send information of your nomination including why you want them to win either by filling in and sending us the form on page 2, or email: m5@bostonmayflower.org.uk
