The Oak Brook Historical Society The Oak Brook Historical Society was established in 1975 to serve as a community advocate for the historic preservation

of our village and to be a resource for research and preservation of our history. We are currently in the process of restoring the old Butler School (1921-1961), which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and now serves the community as the Oak Brook Heritage Center and home of the Historical Society. The Heritage Center is located on the Butler Center campus,

next to Village Hall at 1112 Oak Brook Road, and provides exhibits and research material of the heritage and history of Oak Brook, family history research resources, a vast collection of historic photographs, copies of which are available for purchase, and small group meeting space. Our website also contains a complete index of the nearly 11,000 burials at Oak Brook’s Bronswood Cemetery. For information regarding reserving small group meeting space,

volunteer opportunities, or general information, please call OBHS President Kathy Maher at 630-325-1314.

The Heritage Center is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Phone: 630-368-7750 Email: |

Welcome to the Sports Core The Oak Brook Sports Core, 269 acres of open green space and sports facilities, is part of the fascinating history of Oak Brook. In 1977, the residents voted to purchase the Sports Core from Oak Brook’s founder, Paul Butler, and it has been owned and operated by the Village ever since. Facilities at the Sports Core include: the Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club with three swimming pools, eight tennis courts, recreational lake and welcoming Clubhouse; the challenging Oak Brook Golf Club; the historic Oak Brook Polo Grounds; and the spacious Open Fields. You are cordially invited to visit the Sports Core any time of the year. This serene, natural setting offers a perfect place for a vigorous bicycle ride or a quiet stroll in the soothing sights and sounds of nature.

Bath & Tennis Club The Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club is a retreat beyond the ordinary in an extraordinary natural setting. The superb Village-owned facility is secluded on 20 acres of magnificent woodlands, and while the club is for the exclusive use of members, it has an open-membership policy in which residents and nonresidents are eligible. Both pool/tennis memberships and tennis only memberships are offered. The Club uniquely features three individual pools: the spacious

main swimming pool, the special diving pool, and the wonderful wading pool for children–all with the delightful Poolside Café. For those who love tennis, the facility has eight Har-Tru courts along with a skilled staff of tennis professionals for instruction and providing a range of competitive events for players of all ages and abilities. Contact the Sports Core office for membership information at (630) 368-6420. The Bath & Tennis Clubhouse is a village-owned banquet facility

available for bookings by groups of all kinds, including for your wedding party. The unparalleled qualities begin with towering, 35-foot vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows commanding spectacular views of thickly wooded acres, lushly landscaped lawns and a sparking pond with a centerpiece fountain. Enhancing the rustic "country lodge" charm is a double sided fireplace crafted of rugged fieldstone. The Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club banquet facility offers three different rooms for your special event. Two rooms can be combined to provide a single large space accommodating up to 200 guests for a seated banquet or 300 for a cocktail reception.
