Saplings 2016-2017 AMITA HealthTM “I AM Series”

We’re thrilled to have the staff of AMITA Health™ visit ABC Preschool to talk to the kids about staying healthy, kind, and strong. Programs that will be presented this school year include:

I AM Healthy Through the I AM Healthy program, AMITA Health™ nurses teach children of all ages the importance of good oral health, making healthy food choices, and staying active. During this interactive program the children try on scrubs, look at x-rays, and see how a finger gets cast.

I AM Kind The I AM Kind program focuses on feelings, interacting with classmates, and other self-awareness skills. AMITA Health™ clinicians use the book One by Kathryn Otoshi as the foundation for this program. With this interactive lesson on behavioral health, students learn to face the challenges that come with growing up.

I AM Strong

During the I AM Strong presentation, AMITA Health™ physical therapists share age-appropriate lessons with students to help them learn about their muscles, Muscular Dystrophy, disability etiquette, muscle injury and prevention, and concussions.

Presented by:

Cori’s Way Cori’s Way, the Early Childhood Wing of the Oak Brook Park District Family Recreation Center, was made possible by a generous donation from the Cori Elizabeth Sikich Memorial Foundation. The purpose of the Foundation is to honor the life of Cori Sikich and to help parents and children avoid the devastating effects of eating disorders. Cori’s Way was developed to create a safe, healthy, and fun learning environment that celebrates differences and intentionally teaches social emotional skills.

Your 4-year old will experience a high quality preschool curriculum designed to enrich individual social, emotional, and intellectual growth. Your child will develop fine and gross motor skills through art activities, music, movement, hands-on activities, and storytelling games. Our goal is to encourage all children to learn at their own pace through a variety of exciting experiences that are crafted to build the foundation for a love of learning and to prepare children for success in school. Close communication with Kindergarten teachers from Butler School District 53 allows us to focus on important Kindergarten readiness skills. There is a non-refundable registration deposit due at the time of registration. You will receive a bill for the remainder of your tuition with your parent packet. Payment plans are available. Note: Participants registered for full-day and half-day preschool may not have the same teacher for the morning sessions. ABC Preschool Graduation will be May 26, 2017. Ages: 4-5. Cori’s Way.
