The Oak Brook Park District is home to Fluid Running®, the first certified deep water running program in the United States. Deep water running provides all of the benefits of running on land and more, without any of the pain or impact. Running against the resistance of water challenges your cardiovascular system as well as the muscles in your legs, core, and arms. It’s a phenomenal full-body workout! Fitness-minded people will benefit from the ability to burn 40% more calories than running on land while gaining muscular strength. Runners can improve their running strength and speed while avoiding pavement. Injured athletes (runners, football players, soccer players, dancers, ice skaters, etc.) can maintain pre-injury fitness levels by deep water running. The ability to swim is not required. Fluid Running


Want a really good workout without hitting the pavement? Looking for a great cross-training alternative? This invigorating deep water running class will challenge you cardiovascular system, enhance your stamina and strength (arms, legs and core), and give you all the benefits of running without the impact. Each class will include a warm- up, moderate and intense interval work, and a cool-down. This class is not just for runners, and you don’t have to know how to swim to do it! Fluid Running Seniors


This new Fluid Running class is geared specifically for the 55+ age group. But, that doesn’t mean it’s not a really good workout! Just like the regular Fluid Running classes, participants will be running (or


jogging) in the deep end of the pool supported by a flotation belt.


The difference is that the intensity will be a little less and warm up and cool down will be a little more! The music will be a little different too. Who won’t want to cool down with Frank Sinatra? This is a great, cardiovascular workout that challenges all the major muscle groups - without any impact! Ages: 55+. Lap Lanes.

Fluid Running - Try Deep Water Running


This is a great opportunity to find out why everyone is talking about Fluid Running! In this 55 minute one-time class, you will learn the Fluid Running method and enjoy a high intensity, no impact workout. If you enjoy the session, sign up for one of the 6-8 week sessions. Get a small group together and sign up for a Trial Run! Register for a class and an instructor will call you within one week. Date and time varies- instructor will email participant. Ages: 18+.
