Beauty Blitzwith Victoria Walshe Treat your feet...

W

ith the beautiful sunny days we’ve been experiencing, our feet

are on show much more often. My general opinion is that groomed feet contribute to our overall appearance, personality & can be an indicator to how well we look after ourselves too. They carry our body weight all day long & deserve

to be indulged! Every time I do a foot soak, I

genuinely feel a difference in just 15 minutes. I feel calmer, more relaxed & I even sleep better. Follow these simple steps on

how to give yourself an affordable homemade treatment that will make you feel like you’ve spent the day in a spa!

1)

Epsom Salts are available in all pharmacies starting from €2 (size dependent)

Fill a big

bowl/basin with warm water enough to cover up to your ankles. Pour half a cup of Epsom Salts

in to warm water. This is an emollient that will soothe inflammations,

reduce roughness

& muscle pain while exfoliating too. Further more, the salt draws out toxins, reduces stress & anxiety, treats foot fungus & helps regulate blood sugar!

in to the bowl & then pop in the lemon too.

wash of your choice. I like locally made natural product Copper Coast Skincare. Their Body Wash contains Lavender & Tea Tree, ideal for this treatment!

2) 3)

Copper Coast Body Wash, 250ml, €14.50

(10-12 drops) of Essential oils of your choice (I like 4)

Lavender and Eucalyptus). Lavender soothes and rejuvenates the skin & helps calm nerves endings.

Splash in a generous amount Add in a few drops of a body Cut a lemon & squeeze the juice

At the same time, the Eucalyptus gives excellent relief to aching feet plus it’s a very good antiseptic & disinfectant.

5) Pre-wash your feet then sit back & relax as

they soak for about 15 minutes. By then, you’ll notice the skin is softer (maybe even a bit puffy). Now they’re ready for exfoliation. Using a wet pumice stone, apply a medium pressure to gently remove dead skin & finally moisturise…. Hello pretty feet!

Add a few smooth pebbles to the water to provide a gentle massage as you place your feet on them. It feels heavenly!!
