Gathering Fruit for Life Eternal in Sri Lanka “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubt- less come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”

– Psalm 126:5-6

“…Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth re- ceiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.”

– John 4:35-36

Dear, WME Supporters and Mission Partners — GOD IS RAISING UP A STANDARD AGAINST SPIRITUAL DARKNESS IN SRI LANKA.

To spread the Gospel in Sri Lanka, Christian believers have long faced a fierce battle against principali- ties, powers and rulers of darkness entrenched throughout the country. And with the kind of darkness that has controlled this nation, the Sri Lankan people have been tormented by spirits of fear and op- pression. Official data from Sri Lanka reports the suicide rate has seen a nearly fourfold increase since 1950. In 2014, the World Health Organization ranked Sri Lanka as 4th

in suicide rates among a

total of 172 countries. In a nation with only 20 million people 4,000 Sri Lankans kill themselves annually.

You can and should be shocked by this news, but don’t despair because these sobering statistics are not the end of this story. When the enemy moves in like a flood, the Spirit of God shall raise a standard against him. God will be glorified through the re- deeming work of His Son Jesus Christ. Not only can those in the darkness be saved, there are Sri Lankans being saved at this very moment.

AFTER YEARS DEDICATED TO SOWING PRECIOUS SEEDS IN SPIRITUALLY HOSTILE TERRITORY, OUR MISSION PARTNERS IN SRI LANKA ARE SEEING A MOUNTING HARVEST OF SOULS. Our WME mission partners have endured, grown, witnessed and fought dark forces to see a church, a Christian girls’ home and a Bible school established. Each of these fa- cilities is making a mighty impact in this country and even beyond. To fully grasp the power of these missions, let’s look closer.
