Welcome to the Summer edition of One Voice, in what continues to be an exciting 25th birthday year for NMC.

In May, a team from NMC went to the Science Museum in London to receive the GSK Impact Award 2015. Joining Matthew and Gill for the Celebration Event were Nigel Burgess (chairman of trustees), Dr Ros Quinlivan (Trustee), Dr Jonathan Griffiths (Chair of Vale Royal CCG), Baroness Celia Thomas of Winchester (who herself has md, and has spoken about NMC in Parliament), Ben (Operations and Finance Manager) and Lyndsey (Head of Fundraising). See page 3.

There has been lots of activity at the site of NMC. A team from Mid Cheshire College Painting and Decorating Department have repainted all the external paintwork, the NMC Shed Club have acquired a second shed and the Woodford Lodge building is almost demolished.

In this issue several clients share their experience of pregnancy, two NMC employees explain how having a disability has not held them back in terms of education, work, leisure and independent living, and Thaira Begum, an NMC client shares her profile.

As we enjoy the summer months there’s a feature on gardening, details of our Bushcraft activities, and with the holiday season upon us, there’s some practical advice on flying, obtaining a railcard and cinema card.

Finally, this edition marks 10 years of One Voice. It is also going to be my last edition of One Voice. May I take this opportunity to thank you for all your contributions throughout the last ten years.

It has been a privilege and a pleasure.

With very best wishes,
