Join local adults 55+ participating in the Brant- Haldimand-Norfolk District Senior Games! Events run in May & June at various locations throughout the district. All people 55+ are invited to participate in the Games. The District Games promote physical & mental fitness and are also great fun! Events Include: Bowling, 9 Ball, Bid Euchre, Cycling, Carpet Bowling, Contract Bridge, Cribbage, Crokinole, Darts, Duplicate Bridge, Euchre, Golf, Hoss, Lawn Bowling, Mini Golf, Floor Shuffleboard, Snooker, Swimming, and Walking. The District Senior Games Committee is always looking for volunteers who would like to be committee members.

Every day Lifeline helps thousands of people to live more independent, active lives at home. Lifeline provides 24-hour personal emergency response. Individuals receive help at the push of a button worn around their neck or on their wrist. They system allows for two-way voice communication between the Lifeline user and trained staff at the Brantford General Hospital. The cost of the service is a little more than $1 a day. Financial assistance may be available based on eligibility.

“Several movies have had scenes shot in Brantford, including Welcome to Mooseport and Where the Truth Lies, which were filmed at the Brantford Airport. An episode of Due South, “Dr. Long Ball”, was filmed at Arnold Anderson Stadium in Cockshutt Park. A more recent filming was Weirdsville, which was filmed downtown in 2006. “Silent Hill” was also filmed in the downtown in 2005.”

The Brantford Seniors Resource Centre offers free help to Brantford, Brant County, Six Nations and surrounding region with government forms, Long Term Care programs, Nursing Homes and programs that seniors need to navigate important programs.


We have brochures on most programs and the Access Ability Guide.


Government of Canada: Income Splitting, Income Supplement, Canads Pension. Province of Ontario: Power of Attorney, Trillium Drug Program, Co-Payment Program. City of Brantford: Housing, Recreational Programs.


Day Program: Tuesday to Friday 1-4pm. Join us for coffee and fellowship.


Vial of Life: Valuable medical Information that is placed in your fridge with an identifying magnet to accompany you to the hospital in case of emergency.
