Recently The Chief Constable of Essex Police announced that due to further cost cutting 190 PCSO’s in the whole of Essex will be made redundant - only 60 PCSO’s will remain by 1st April 2016. This means that Harlow will only retain 4 PCSO’s in total and these 4 will be chosen from the pool of 60 who successfully qualify to keep their jobs. The new rôle of the 60 remaining PCSOs will no longer be the same as it is now and the 4 that will remain will not be dedicated to wards. I will be sad to say ‘goodbye’ to the many residents of Harlow I have met over my years’ of service.
