HAND & POWER TOOLS

RESULTS From the tests, results below, the 110V EvoTorque connected to the mains operated at 69V. The 50m extension cable accounted for a 19V drop meaning the minimum source voltage to operate the EvoTorque was 88V. When connected to a generator the lowest operating voltage was a little higher and the cable caused a larger voltage drop.

CONVERSION

EvoTorque converts an AC supply into a DC supply and it stores some power for momentary drops from the power source. This enables the hand tool to deal with fluctuating voltage from the power source.

It is worth noting that in situations where the power source drops below the minimum voltage required it displays an E15 (under voltage) error message rather than applying an incorrect torque.

CONCLUSION EvoTorque…

• Always, either completed the correct torque / angle; or displayed an E15 (under voltage) error message

• Never applied an incorrect torque or angle • Is largely unaffected by voltage fluctuation due to the motor controller technology used

Minimum source voltage required (V)

88 124 103 140

RECOMMENDATIONS… • Keep extension leads as short as possible – the longer the lead the greater the drop

• Use an extension lead with a large cross section cable (a cable with core sizes of 2.5mm2 as a minimum) – larger cables have less resistance

• Use mains supply if possible or make sure any generator is at least 5 KVA

The range is weather sealed to IP44, equipped with a maintenance free motor and covers requirements from 200 N·m to 6,000 N·m.
