INCREASING INNOVATION IN THE OFFSHORE WIND SERVICING SECTOR


More than 150 European speakers and delegates gathered to explore innovative and collaborative working recently as The European Clusters for Offshore Wind Servicing (ECOWindS) held its final conference at OrbisEnergy, Lowestoft.


The conclusions of the ECOWindS project was presented to participants at a major industry event entitled ‘Increasing Innovation in the Offshore Wind Servicing Sector’.


OBJECTIVE

COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH The project has been a collaborative research effort between the Offshore Wind Servicing regions of South Denmark, North- West Germany, East of England and the Region of Møre in Norway.


To pave the way for new research and understanding of how the costs of offshore wind servicing can be driven down through research, innovation and cross boarder co-operation. That has been the main goal of the European Clusters for Offshore Wind Servicing project that has run for three years and will be completed shortly.

The conference was hosted by Johnathan Reynolds, Business Development lead at OrbisEnergy and Director of Nautilus Associates, one of the founding ECOWindS partners. Firstly, showcasing the results of our research over the past three years through our conference programme, giving our delegates and partners from across Europe the opportunity to hear first-hand of their potential impact.

HUGE SUCCESS


With over 150 delegates and speakers from across Europe including Morton Basse, CEO of OffshoreEnergy.dk, Anders Bach Anderson form MHI-Vestas, Paulina Hobbs of Siemens Energy and Scott Hewitt-Gudgin from Scottish Power Renewables. The conference was hailed a huge success by EEEGR (East of England Energy Group) CEO Simon Gray who went on to say: “Great to see such an International industry event being hosted in our region. With many opportunities for our members across the supply chain to become involved.”
