This is a year of ‘firsts’ for the arts in Niagara. This architectural landmark contains four unique venues to showcase local and international music, dance, theatre, film, comedy and more; something for every age and every interest! Each venue was built for the ultimate audience experience with amazing sightlines, acoustics, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment.

I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the forty-five year legacy of Brock University’s Centre for the Arts. We will continue to build on the Centre’s HOT TICKET success by offering world-class entertainment and the highest quality customer service. We want to ensure you have an amazing experience at every show.

On behalf of Centre staff and the City of St. Catharines, I extend a warm Niagara welcome to

residents and visitors alike. This is your new home to experience local and international arts. Bring your family and friends to celebrate all of our firsts as we usher in a new performance season in a purpose-built venue — the first of its kind in our region.

Steve Solski Executive Director, FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre

Welcome to the inaugural season of the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre! I am over-the- moon to share this historic first season with you that will bring old favourites to this new setting alongside your soon-to-be new favourites in dance, theatre, spoken word, music and so much more. I encourage you to look through these pages to discover what we have in store for you this year — and this is just a taste! You can show your support of this year’s HOT TICKET season through the purchase of a season membership that will give you access to discounted tickets, advance ordering privileges and invitations to special events.

The St. Catharines and Niagara arts community is vibrant and diverse — like none I have ever experienced. We’re proud to present, co-present and partner with local arts organizations in our inaugural year. I encourage you to seek out the exceptional work being created in our own backyard. This season we welcome Chorus Niagara, Niagara Symphony Orchestra, Essential Collective Theatre,

Suitcase in Point Theatre Company, In the Soil Arts Festival, Carousel Players, Niagara Artists Centre, Brock University’s ENCORE! Professional Concert Series, Gallery Players of Niagara and the inaugural Foster Festival, just to name a few.

I have great hope for the role of this Centre, a place we can call our own. A big and heart-felt thanks to each person, organization and government partner who helped make this dream come true. Let’s grow together in our new home, connecting and inspiring our community. THE ARTS LIVE HERE. DISCOVER WHAT’S INSIDE. See you at the Centre!

Sara Palmieri Programming and Marketing Manager, FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre

Welcome to a new era for the City of St. Catharines and the entire Niagara Region.

I’m so proud of the volunteers and staff at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre for helping to meet and exceed our fundraising goals. And I am humbled by the generosity of so many citizens and community leaders. Your support ensured ambitious goals were achieved.

Because of you, we now have a remarkable venue where local children, groups and individuals can develop and showcase their talents on a world-calibre stage. It is my honour and privilege to extend to all of you a big round of applause for championing the performing arts in Niagara Region.
