AROUND THE WORLD

Take a look at some of the amazing construction

projects around the world showcasing industry innovation

MENNICA LEGACY TOWER, WARSAW, POLAND Architect: Goettsch Partners Builder: TBC Opens: 2018 On completion, the tower will mostly be used as an office complex, but there will be some retail and commercial functions. The development takes the form of two glass-fronted neighbouring towers, connected by a 4,750 sq m public plaza. The streamlined form of the taller tower emphasises its verticality, and tapers to a rooftop opening that will be illuminated at night. The flexible floor plan can easily be arranged and reconfigured to accommodate multiple tenants, and allow spaces for individual workspaces, enclosed offices and areas for collaboration. Services are arranged within a central core, acting as a spine for each of the towers. At street level, the bustling public space of the plaza connects the two towers, featuring a restaurant and café.

PLAZA DISTRICT, SAN RAMON, USA Architect: Renzo Piano Building Workshop Builder: TBC Opens: 2016 Catering to multiple generations of the Bishop Ranch area, the project will act as a social hub within the community. An open-air theatre, a variety of dining options, first-class retail and community services will all be united within a series of glass-encased plazas topped with roofs of living plants. The Plaza District will be completed in late 2016 as the centre’s first phase. Subsequent phases will include 479 residential units, a 169-room hotel and four new office buildings totalling 800,000 sq ft.
