What’s the most important thing for fitness operators to consider when introducing or replacing

treadmill equipment? Treadmills are frequently the most used product in a fitness facility and usually represent the single largest equipment investment for most operators. Operators should consider the total cost of ownership, not just the lowest bid. Also examine the company’s ability to service the equipment and talk to other operators about their experiences. Finally, demo a new treadmill for 60-days and see what kind of feedback you receive from members and staff before investing in a new piece of equipment.

What new innovations within the treadmill market can we expect

from you in 2015? For exercisers, we will continue to build more personalised training that helps users to meet their fitness goals and fully utilise Precor equipment as a part of their fitness program. For operators, Precor will continue to focus on ways to improve the ease and efficiency of service with more web tools to manage your entire equipment stack.

What’s your vision for the future of

fitness? In the future, there will be a greater focus on how end-to-end product solutions can help operators achieve their key business objectives. Simply providing hardware to our customers is not enough in a rapidly changing global market. Precor is already building a full platform of products and services to help the operator, as well as their staff and customers, helping them to meet their goals. We are incredibly excited about the future of our industry and the leadership role of Precor.
