£5m Nottinghamshire contract for Everyone Health

Everyone Health has been appointed as the driving force behind Nottinghamshire County Council’s new Obesity Prevention and Weight Management services with a contract valued at more than £5m.

As the Public Health division of Sports and Leisure Management (SLM), Everyone Health specialises in helping to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities through a range of dynamic and integrated solutions.

Working alongside the Nottinghamshire council over the next four years, Everyone Health will help families across the county to manage their weight and lead healthier lifestyles.

Beginning in April 2015, initiatives will include offering adults, children and families in Nottinghamshire at high risk of obesity a personalised care package, including psychological support and help with increasing physical activity and maintaining

a balanced and healthy diet.

Annie Holden, head of Public Health at Everyone Health, commented: “This is a landmark contract for us. We’re thrilled to be given the opportunity to work with Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver these dedicated services for families and individuals across the county.”

Councillor Joyce Bosnjak, chair of the Public Health Committee, added: “This is an important step in helping us tackle this vital issue for the health of Nottinghamshire. These new services will operate right across the county, giving every resident the same opportunity for specialist support to help them lose weight or maintain a healthy weight in a variety of different scenarios. Caring for overweight and obese people has a considerable cost implication for our healthcare system – by helping more people achieve a healthier weight, we can prevent them from needing that support, and help to reduce some of the strain on the system.”

In related news, Castle View, who own SLM, have acquired two new companies to further expand their portfolio of businesses.

The privately-owned family business has taken over Weight Management Centre, a leading provider of obesity and weight management education and intervention programmes, as well as Discovery Learning, which offers high quality UK-based fitness training courses.

Martin Bell, Castle View’s MD, commented: “This is an exciting time for Castle View. We’re delighted to add Weight Management Centre and Discovery Learning to our expanding group.”
