The hotel also introduced Hampton’s new Modular Display Breakfast earlier this year, and offers a “Jump Start” fit- ness room that has been fully renovated. Guest rooms and public areas will soon receive upgrades, too, and the swim- ming pool deck will be replaced. The Courtyard by Marriott in the county recently underwent renovations, while the the former Holiday Inn changed flags to become a La Quinta hotel. The space at this newly flagged hotel has been updated, as well.


The county’s versatile centerpiece is the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center, which provides a 30,000-square foot arena, 10,000-square foot auxiliary area, ten meeting rooms, in-house catering, plus locker rooms and spectator seating for up to 6,000 people. The center also plays host to top-notch entertainment throughout the year, as well as a wide- variety of conventions, trade shows, meetings and social events.


A Maryland university of national distinc- tion, Salisbury University offers a variety of meeting spaces on campus, and all of its special events are planned and exe- cuted with great care and attention to

detail. The university’s Commons pro- vides over 17,000-square feet of meet- ing space along with dining areas.


The Fountains Wedding and Conference Center offers grace and elegance along with modern amenities and state-of-the- art multi-media capabilities for groups of 20 to 450 people in a variety of settings.


Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, which features the world’s largest decoy collec- tions, is dedicated to exhibiting, collect- ing and promoting wildfowl art and relat- ed materials, and also to interpreting their significance through educational programs and publications. Event space is available for group functions at the museum for a one-of-a-kind experience.


Bordeleau Vineyards and Winery offers beautiful vineyards, a winery and a tast- ing facility just south of Salisbury and nestled between the gentle slopes of the Wicomico Creek. Named Bordeleau, French for ‘the water’s edge,’ the winery offers meeting goers world class wines amid an abundance of wildlife that calls the Eastern Shore home, including bald eagles, great blue herons and snowy egrets.


Another unique location in Wicomico County is Perdue Stadium, which is the home to the Baltimore Orioles’ Class A affiliate, the Delmarva Shorebirds. Attendees can enjoy an outing at the stadium and take in a ballgame.

In the summer of 2015, Cecil County along Maryland’s Eastern Shore will play host to a major event - one of eight Elite Bassmaster Fishing Tournaments and its accompanying two-day family festival. Bassmaster Elite is the premier fishing tournament series in the world, and will be coming to Cecil County August 13- 16, 2015. The tournament series is to fishing what PGA is to golf, and what NASCAR is to racing. Bassmaster's multi-day tournament is expected to attract up to 30,000 attendees and will be broadcast on both ESPN 2 and on the Outdoor Channel.
