A Brief History of Water’s Edge

The resort was founded by humani- tarian Bill Hahn, a man said to have a heart as big as life. A consummate innkeeper for three memorable decades, he was dedicated to pro- viding a place to relax, a place to cel- ebrate, a place to be entertained. He created a Broadway aura for friends and guests who enjoyed Woody Allen, Barbra Streisand and Art Carney, among others, before they were celebrated stars.

Current Water’s Edge owner Michael Dattilo could be called an accidental resort entrepreneur. Weary from searching for a summer camp for his children, he bought his own, com- plete with lodging for the whole fami- ly. His goal for Water’s Edge has always been to give guests every- thing they need every minute of their stay, regardless if it is a vacation or a business function. The full-service beachfront resort, replete with lavish amenities, is designed as a luxurious home away from home.
