Civil Ceremonies and Blessings – The details

Civil Ceremonies

Hazlewood Castle presents four beautiful rooms to accommodate civil ceremonies of different sizes for those of you who would rather not marry in church or a registry office.

The Victoria Room holds up to 30 guests, The State Drawing room accommodates up to 60 guests, The Old Dining room up to 90 guests and The Great Hall provides seating for up to 120.

Civil ceremonies can take place everyday between 10am-6pm except Christmas day enabling you to enjoy your whole wedding day from ceremony to reception to evening disco in one location.

We offer two kinds of civil ceremonies for marriage the first being a simple ceremony which meets all necessary

legal requirements and has no enhancements. This is perfect for a small intimate wedding. The second is an enhanced ceremony which enables you to personalise your ceremony and can feature readings and music.

For more information please contact Selby Registration office on 01609 780 780 or email registrars.selby@ northyorks.gov.uk. Alternatively you can visit their website at www.northyorks.gov.uk

Blessings

Hazlewood Castle is also proud to be able to offer the historic and beautiful St. Leonard’s Chapel for those who would like to share its rich Christian heritage.

The Chapel is certainly a beautiful part of Hazlewood Castle.

For those getting married, they can complement and

celebrate their wedding with a blessing in the historic place of worship following a civil service.

Blessing can be individually tailored to meet the needs of couples, and may be drawn from traditional and contemporary sources with couple adding their own material and personal touches.

A blessing offers real flexibility, is more relaxed, informal and informal and intimate, and offers the possibility of a real celebration.

St. Leonard’s, which has regular church services, is also able to offer baptisms/christenings, confirmations, renewal of vows and so on, all the usual forms of service found in most parish churches.
