nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”
It is very interesting to note that when God gave all the other
commandments, he did not say to remember them.
The only one He prefaced with the word, “remember” was the Sabbath commandment.
Of course, being omniscient, or all-knowing, He was well aware that the devil would tempt us to forget the day of God’s blessing.
The devil does not want us to have the blessing of God, so he set up a
different day for us to worship.
It has been this way since the garden of Eden and our first parents. God said not to eat… the devil said to go ahead and eat.
God said to bring an animal sacrifice… Satan said to bring fruit and vegetables.
God said not to kill… the devil told Cain to kill his brother.
God said to be holy… the devil said to commit all kinds of sin.
God said He created everything… the devil has convinced millions of people
that it was not God but evolution that “made” us. And God said to keep the seventh day holy but Satan said, “No, keep any other day but that day holy.”
God said to set the Sabbath apart for holy use and the devil has us doing anything and everything but keeping it holy.
