And I am telling you these things simply to explain why it is important to us.
All through Jesus’ life, He kept the Sabbath that He gave us at creation.
Jesus made all the world and everything in it, and then rested the seventh day.
Genesis 2:1-3 “Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that
in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.” Here is a very important idea to us Sabbath keepers…
God not only rested on the Sabbath but He blessed and sanctified that day.
He did not bless or sanctify any other day… just the seventh day, or the Sabbath.
According to God, there were to be special blessings on the Sabbath.
In order to receive God’s special blessings on the Sabbath, we must keep that day.
And here is where there seems to be a lot of questions… the “keeping” of
the Sabbath day. In today’s society, there seems to be very little “keeping” of the day of worship, whatever day that might be.
Unfortunately, that also includes many Seventh-day Adventists.
And we ourselves have not been free of guilt from this problem.
