the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.” God gave us this scripture because He knew what a temptation it would be
for us to misuse the holy Sabbath day. And He knew that when others, who do not understand what this day is about, came around us, or we came around them, it would be more likely
that we might forget what this day is for. And God promises that if we will keep the day in the way it was intended, then we would ride upon the high places of the earth and be fed with the heritage of Jacob.
In other words, if we keep the Sabbath as God plans for us, we would be
And of course, the more time we spend with our Saviour and our Father, the more we become like them and the closer we reflect their image.
And to be the children of the Most High God is what we were put here for.
We don’t want anything to get in the way of becoming like our God.
Isaiah 56:2 “Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.”
We actually crave the blessing of God.
Nothing is more important than this to us.
For us, being with God, honoring Him, serving Him and, (very soon we hope), seeing Him face-to-face, is all we are about and are interested in.
We are sometimes tempted away from the Sabbath and get involved and do things we shouldn’t, and we both know what a poor example that has been.
