For six days a week, we work and sweat and focus our energies on the routine things of life, but on the day that God specifically blessed, that day has been set apart for us to rest and refocus on what we are here for.
And look at how many in this world have lost their focus!
Even supposed Christians…
How many of us really do love God with all their hearts, minds and souls?
THAT is what the Sabbath is for.
God designed that day for us to get back on center, to reaffirm our connection with Him, to have that time to bask in all His blessings that the rest of the week clouds away.
And the Sabbath is not just a rest day.
It is not merely play time or a cease from working day. It has a specific function of helping us draw nearer to Him. That’s why we avoid any TV watching that does not uplift the Saviour.
We do not read books or magazines that are not in keeping with drawing nearer to Him.
We do not play games or attend any functions that keep our attention from our Lord and Master.
It is not a day for us only, but a day for us and our Lord to be together. Isaiah 58:13-14 “If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy
