We Celebrate 100 It was a surprise to us when we worked out in December that we had just produced our 100th issue of the Village Matters magazines. Launched in 2010 initially in Lower Sunbury, we soon added Shepperton Matters, followed by Village Matters in late 2013. As the Surrey Herald closed there are some asking what place print has in local communities. Is it worth producing? Is it needed? Can online take its place? The feedback we get is that there is indeed a place for a little magazine such as Village Matters. You like to have some- thing to hold and leaf through. Something where you can source local tradesmen. A place which gives you stories about local people you may know, history that is relevant and events that we share. It is the stories and the people that make my job so worthwhile. I am always happy to spend an hour having a coffee and hearing a story. Many people tell me they have kept every issue. That brings a smile to my face. Village Matters is an independent company and each of those 100 issues has been put to- gether by one person. The content of each magazine varies to the next. If you have a story to tell then get in touch: monica@villagematters.co.uk. Thank you for your support over the years.
