Super Hero Scoops Spelthorne Business Prize The Spelthorne Dragons gathered to hear the pitches from the five finalists in this years Spelthorne Business Plan Competition. In the audience was Mayor of Spelthorne, Suzy Webb, MP Kwasi Kwarteng , councillors and local busi- ness representatives . The finalists pitched business ideas covering luxury travel, props for hire, leather care products and Futsal training. There were some well prepared and very enthusiastic pitches but one was stand out and unforgettable. As Predator swooped menacingly into the auditorium, fol- lowed by Masterchief and Ironman, you knew something different was afoot. Richard Warren, 28, is using his experience of graphic design and prop build- ing to craft quality Superhero outfits. The characters are for hire at children’s parties and corporate events within a 25 mile radius of Sunbury. Richard had plans for business growth with event packages of photo/cake and appear- ances. He says the reac- tion he gets when his superheroes appear at a party gives him such a buzz and he shared several glowing testimonials with the audience. Rich’s enthusiasm is infectious. He did not quite manage to persuade his new bride into a super- hero themed wedding this year, however asked if he has plans for any female characters he wondered if his wife might make a good Elsa from Frozen!

Richard receives his award from MP Kwasi Kwarteng
