TOWN CRIER BOB Larger-than-life FPRA Chairman Bob Smytherman has taken on a new role ideally suited to his out-going personality – that of town crier.
Having just completed a very successful year as Mayor of Worthing, Bob is now the local town crier – the first person to do the job after a lapse of 20 years. Bob was known as #coolmayor as his use of social media catapulted the mayoral role into the 21st Century and to a new younger demographic. Bob was a very popular mayor who carried out a record number of civic duties and became the People’s Mayor with his friendly and approachable manner. In 2014 Bob was asked to take part in the Community Play and was given the role of town crier; a role he then offered to continue for the town. Read more on www.worthingtowncrier.co.uk
