King of your own jungle D

With continual advances in home entertainment technology, it can all become a little confusing to say the least and that’s when it’s time to call in the experts…

esigning and installing the latest automated systems for luxury homes throughout the home

counties is all in a day’s work for MDfx, home automation experts based in Uxbridge. This year, with the assistance of Crestron, a leading provider of control and automation systems, the company has created two simply outstanding tree houses in the grounds of a luxury property in Windlesham. The tree houses are fitted with an Xbox One console, a wall- mounted 46" full HD 3D television, wireless speakers, multi-room sound system and subwoofers for an entertainment system many houses would envy. The transformation began three years

ago, when MDfx was commissioned to install a top of the range home automation solution in the Windlesham property. A Crestron control system was chosen which included full lighting control, audio distribution throughout, a home cinema and comprehensive fire and security systems. The three floor property features an impressive basement leisure complex, complete with pool, gym and spa. There is touch panel control over the water fountains, custom made in brushed satin nickel. As with any sizeable property, security was one of the main considerations of the project. A presence detection system displays whenever a room in the house is occupied and where any intruders are located. An alarm system featuring flush

mounted vibration detection on all windows and doors was installed, with a keypad entry system which can be displayed on the Crestron touch panel. All this technology is well hidden and not

intrusive with touch panels and switches discreetly designed to enhance the décor. Should the owner wish to expand the automation system at a later date the house is pre-wired for blinds and curtain control.

How much technology is incorporated in the property? • Full Crestron control throughout the house, controlling lighting, heating, water fountains, door entry and more. • Crestron touch panels throughout with custom interface. • Presence detection system monitored via the Crestron system. • Intruder alarm system with flush mounted vibration detection on all windows and doors, plus key coded gate entry. • Dedicated cinema room with a projector and fixed screen with acoustically transparent fabric and speakers behind. • Tiny, discreet presence detectors in bathrooms that automate lights without the need for a switch. • Crestron audio distribution.

This year the owner approached MDfx

again to provide something even more unique. Working with luxury treehouse

builder, Blue Forest, MDfx transformed two of the property’s stunning tree houses into Crestron controlled media and games rooms, both of which cost over £100,000. Each tree house is connected to the main property and its control system, providing full access to all house media sources, including a film server, Sky HD, digital radio and broadband connection. All the different functions are controlled by TPS 6L touch panels on the wall and wireless Crestron remotes. Treehouse getaways are perfect for the child in us all. They may seem like the stuff of dreams, but there are a variety of options available to create a bespoke smart home experience. Whether it’s a state of the art home cinema, or a simple lighting control system, every home can have its own touch of luxury. Automation solutions connect all home

technology providing control of lighting, entertainment, security, heating and more with simple one-touch commands. By integrating technology and reducing energy consumption through a single master system, Crestron can deliver significant lifestyle benefits.
