Church Painting

With the building now over 50 years old it was no surprise to discover that the windows of the church, foyer and large hall needed to be replaced. Last year the decision was made to explore the cost of replacing them and to find out what grants would be available to assist with the purchase.

After viewing various styles of windows it was agreed that the replacement windows would be double glazed, have a wooden frame on the inside and an aluminium frame on the outside.

However in the meantime it was decided to, before the winter, seal the windows and paint the outside of them. As a result over the past few weeks a team of men and women have been sanding down and painting windows, doors and railings.

Many thanks to all who have helped in this work and spe- cial thanks for the supply of bacon rolls one Saturday!

As a result of money raised on this year’s and last year’s Gift Days an order has been placed to renew the church windows and this should be completed by the end of the year.
