A special mention must be given to Jeremy and Jan Burden. They went beyond the call of duty by not only having a plants stall at one of Anne's village hall table top fairs, so that the gardeners amongst us could buy plants at the proper time, but then also having a flower stall at the fete itself - and the most gorgeous cut flowers

they were, so thanks to all those who provided them from what must surely be their beautiful gardens. In doing so, Jeremy and Jan more than doubled their takings. Hats off to both of you!

There was fun for all the family on the bouncy castle - and Freddie found a unique rocking horse!

More winners!

I am, again, very grateful for all the help I received from many people in the preparing, the doing, and the taking down. Usually I would say that help came from all quarters of the village, even as far afield as the top end of East Street, but this time I can say that help came from far away indeed, including Reading, London, and even Dubai!

Gary Ellwood was awarded a “book of expletives” as a thankyou for his inimitable performance as compere.

So, to all those who tapped in a tent peg, baked scones, put up road signs (I hope yours will survive for next year Nigel, they are lovely), strung up bunting, ran games, stalls, BBQed, served cream teas, generously provided power, water and marquees, and then took it all down again the next day - thank you, here's to you! You created a fabulous afternoon, which was perfectly topped off with a wonderful party hosted by the little star that is Jenson!

See you in 2015! Jo Driver
