I would like to finish by making it clear that I and all ofmy Councillor colleagues are acutely aware that this Council belongs to the Parish, and that we are merely acting as its custodians until you decide otherwise. I am keen to ensure that whilst I hold office we all do our very best to reflect and respond to the needs of the Parish. However, we cannot achieve this if we do not have your help and support, so if you have any views, concerns or complaints please do speak to me, any of my colleagues on the Council, or the Clerk.

Winning the Best Kept Village competition has been a wonderful boost for this Parish and on behalf of the Council I would like to thank everyone who helped us in whatever way to achieve this. I think this was a classic example of how the whole community can work together in an informal way to achieve success. I hope this approach will continue in the future.

Update on the Village Hall

Eyes down … Don’t forget there’s BINGO in the Village Hall on Friday 24th October at 8.00 p.m. See page 11 in the What’s Coming Up? section for more details.

More things coming soon

We hope to soon be able to give you a full list of what is planned in the Village Hall, so keep your eyes on the notice boards outside the Hall and in the Village Square, as well as forthcoming issues of the Chronicle.

Next year we are hoping to do a couple of fun competitions as well - like who can grow the biggest marrow, and who can display the best flowerpot. Look out for further details early next year.
